Nate Edenhofer
Nate Edenhofer is a PhD student in the Politics department at the University of California Santa Cruz. He holds a BA in International Affairs and an MA in Political Science from Northern Arizona University. His existing and ongoing research focuses on comparing the outcomes from conflict between elites, states, and movements in the mining sector across Central America. This is part of a broader interest in how historical legacies of capital, class, and state formation built from past conflicts shape the content and outcomes of contemporary politics around environmental and economic inequality related to changes in global capitalism. He is also interested in studying the specific material, ideological, and emotional strategies different actors take to secure or contest these changes. He has also done research on participation and inclusive economic development, policing and inequality, and the persecution of university employees. Nate has spent years organizing around labor, housing, and immigrant issues in Arizona and California with multiple organizations.
